During the model testing of my
pavilion, I decided to cut my section
like this, because I want to show two
things:
1. the Hinge connection, which is
one of the most interesting part of
my pavilion, cut the section in this
direction could show the hinge
clearly.
2. Holes which were installed with
colourful glasses. This section shows
the specific shapes of each holes
and how did they generate with
the geometry that made the whole
pavilion.
Also, the landscape shows clearly in
this direction, I tried to lower down the
central area and raise up two sides to
emphasize the main circulation and
this could be a natural threshold to my
pavilion.

The materiality for my main body of pavilion and seats is powder coated steel with different colors, and for the platform is concrete. I first thought of also concrete with the pavilion, but it was not siutable that the pavilion looks the same as the ground. Also, after that, I tried timber for it, but timber did not have a sense of high-techniqued or mechanic for me and pavilion. After that, My final decision is steel.
For model making, the laser cutting will be applied for the landscape, and others will be applied with 3D print.
